A World Without Breast Cancer |
The Wabash Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 2012-2013. Applications will be accepted from nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions involved in breast cancer and breast health programs in the counties of Clark and Edgar in Illinois, Greene, Clay, Monroe, Parke, Putnam, Owen, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties in Indiana.
The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing science to find the cure.
The National Susan G. Komen for the Cure runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. Over the past 15 years, our local Affiliate is proud to have sent $200,000 to National grant research programs. In addition to funding research, the Affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in above listed counties. We have funded over $1 Million to local community programs.
The grant cycle runs from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013. Eligible applications must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2012. Announcements of funding will be made the week of April 20, 2012.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jeri Humphrey by phone 812-917-5047 or email wvkomenoff@yahoo.com. Applications will be available online Friday, January 20, 2012. |
